Many thanks for pointing to the video! I enjoyed it indeed, and will watch the rest of the series too. Great job!

I agree with most of your points. Except for geniuses not being founders. Contrary to what you say (“in spite of plenty of other people doing the exact same thing before them”), there was no plenty of theories of relativity before Einstein. He did create it, and, by doing so, happened to open a new niche: modern physics — along with Max Planck, Werner Heisenberg and a few others. So, they became the founders of it.

Besides, it sometimes happens that the “genius” credit goes not to the guy who made an “almost lightbulb” (for example), but to those who added the last minor improvement, which made this “almost lightbulb” an actual lightbulb, which we could use on a large scale: an easy-to-produce, marketable product. Steve Jobs didn’t invent the PC, and Elon Musk didn’t invent an electric car, though they are largely associated with these inventions — precisely for this reason: they made last minor improvements. So, their effort isn’t larger than the effort of those who produced an “almost good PC” or “almost good electric car,” (so: they aren’t geniuses) but their effort happened to be the last brick, which turned those “almosts” into useable products.

Anyway, thanks for the comment :) Great to see that more people are thinking in the same direction!
